Interurban Transport of Tenerife (TITSA) issued a warning on Friday, 1st August, after detecting a fraud related to the supposed acquisition of bus vouchers on the island.
According to the public company, a website is circulating online that falsely promotes an offer of unlimited travel for six months for just two euros, linked to the Ten+ Card. TITSA has confirmed that this is a completely fake campaign.
The scam is being disseminated through a profile under the name “Santa Cruz de Tenerife Public Transport,” which pretends to be an official source. In its announcement, it claims that this supposed promotion is part of celebrating the 25th anniversary of the transport company, and invites users to register through an external link. Furthermore, the offer is limited to the first 500 users.
In light of this situation, TITSA reminds that the purchase and renewal of the Ten+ Card should only be carried out at official points, such as the institutional website or authorised establishments. It strongly advises not to access dubious links or provide personal information on unverified pages.
This is not the first case of attempted fraud linked to public transport in Tenerife. Last summer, a similar campaign was detected, offering free travel for a year in exchange for registering on a fraudulent site, and in October of the same year, a similar post reappeared.
