A horse became the centre of attention last Monday, 28th July, by taking a dip at a beach in the north of Tenerife. During the afternoon, bathers at San Marcos Beach, in Icod de los Vinos, were surprised by the appearance of this animal alongside a man who was taking it to cool off.
The heatwaves on the Island are becoming increasingly intense, which may have been the reason for bringing the horse to the coast. This is an image that is quite unusual, leading several onlookers to pull out their mobile devices to capture the moment. In one of those videos, you can see how the horse reacts rather violently to two people, galloping into the water and quickly coming back out.

In Canary Islands, there is no regulation that expressly prohibits taking horses to bathe at a beach. The council of Icod de los Vinos does not allow dogs on San Marcos Beach, and it remains to be seen if in the future entering horses will be prohibited if this becomes a routine.
The hoof prints in the sand were one of the things that most surprised the bathers, as can be heard in the videos.
