SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 29 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

An operation involving around 80 people has been working since the early hours of this Tuesday, 29 July, on the firefighting efforts for the fire that broke out this Monday in the Partidos de Franquis, in the municipality of El Tanque (Tenerife), which has also affected Santiago del Teide.

The aim of this contingent, as reported by the Cabildo of Tenerife, is to prevent re-ignitions, and for this, nine aerial resources (eight helicopters and one air tractor) are also involved, alongside personnel from the Brifor Operational Unit of the island authority, members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium, and Volunteer Firefighters.

Additionally, the various emergency tasks are supported by members of the Army, the Civil Guard, the Canary Police, local police from El Tanque and Santiago del Teide, the Red Cross, and Civil Protection associations.

So far, the fire has affected around 70 hectares of scrubland and broom, while the causes are being investigated by the staff of the Cabildo of Tenerife.
