A new and dangerous act of recklessness on the roads of Tenerife. A group of young people travelling in two vehicles was recorded with part of their bodies outside the windows while the car advanced through a winding area at the summit of Tenerife.
The images, which have been shared on social media, show how those involved, instead of maintaining safety inside the vehicle, chose to sitting on the door frames, completely ignoring the traffic regulations and the risks associated with such behaviour.
The incident occurred on the TF-24, a road that connects La Laguna with Teide, yesterday Saturday.
“Let’s hope they get their number plate and are taught to be more civic-minded on the road” or “we’re heading for extinction at this rate, my goodness” are some of the comments found on social media regarding the video.
The Teide National Park, besides being a protected area, experiences high traffic levels, especially on weekends, which increases the risk of behaviours like this.
The authorities emphasise that such actions not only endanger those who commit them, but also other road users.
