Nineteen-Year-Old in Critical Condition After Near-Drowning in Hotel Pool in Arona

A 19-year-old man has been transferred in critical condition to Hospiten Sur after suffering a drowning incident in a swimming pool at a hotel complex in Arona (Tenerife), according to the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2.

The incident occurred at around 17:11 hours, when the operational room of 1-1-2 received an alert reporting the incident, prompting Cecoes to immediately activate the necessary emergency resources to intervene in the area.

Upon arrival at the scene, the SUC personnel continued with the advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures initiated by the lifeguard at the establishment.

After stabilising the affected individual, he was evacuated in critical condition to the aforementioned hospital. Meanwhile, the police services collaborated with the responding resources.

    Witnesses also claim a civilian pulled him out NOT a life guard, the lifeguard assisted once the boy was pulled from the pool,

      My nephew was there at the time and said he didnt see the lifeguard help at all it was 3 nurses that was at the hotel that was doing cpr hope the kid makes a full recovery

    my daughter and her friend told the life guard there was someone in the pool not moving and he just walked away then only pulled him out when other people screamed only after he took his shoes and watch off they where traumatised by this and got no support from jet 2 this was their first holiday and it has really effected them
