Officers from the National Police, in collaboration with the Local Police of Adeje and under the direction of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, have arrested two individuals and seized drugs at two cannabis associations and an adjoining venue operating as an illegal distribution point in the south of Tenerife.
The investigation uncovered the fraudulent use of the legal concept of a non-profit social club to disguise activities for the direct sale of drugs, primarily to tourists. In this way, the associations openly promoted their activities on social media and mobile applications, allowing access and purchase of substances to individuals with no prior connection to the club, according to the police report.
During the operation, three simultaneous entries and searches were carried out, where over 2.5 kilos of cannabis, more than half a kilo of hashish, and over 1.5 kilos of hash oil, a highly concentrated derivative of hashish, were found.
More than 100 food products containing THC were also seized, including biscuits, gummy sweets, and cakes, as well as items used for drug trafficking (precision scales, airtight plastic bags, and more than 1,600 euros in cash).
The operation culminated in the arrest of two individuals linked to prior operations for similar offences.
