A Finn Living in Tenerife Speaks Out on the Key Difference with Her Country: “Way Too Long”

Titta, known on social media as @tufinlandesadeconfianza, has shared on TikTok how she ended up leaving Finland to live in Tenerife. What started as a sporting decision turned into a life change that has already lasted three and a half years.

“I moved here because I wanted to be the best karateka possible,” Titta explains in a video that has already garnered thousands of views. Her story has captured the attention of users due to its unexpected twist: it wasn’t the climate or the beaches that brought her to the Canary Islands, but her passion for karate.

In her home country, Titta was a professional athlete, and her father was her coach. But there came a time when she needed to separate the two roles: “I wanted my dad to be my dad, not my coach,” she recounts. She then made a list of three coaches she admired, and the first one was from Tenerife. She contacted him, explained her situation… and thus began a new chapter.

“It wasn’t because I wanted to move to Tenerife,” she clarifies in the video. “My second option was a coach from Serbia, so the story would have been very different.”

But fate and sport brought her to the archipelago, and she soon fell in love with the surroundings. Titta also confesses that, although she loves her home country, the Finnish winters were “too long and harsh” for her: “I’ve struggled with the darkness since I was little.”

Now, she lives happily in Tenerife with her partner and continues to share her daily life from an island that has offered her more than just a good place to train: a new life filled with sunshine, love, and stability.
