The Council Promotes Identity Through Seven Craft Fairs Featuring Over 200 Artisans

Until the end of 2025, a total of seven craft fairs will be held in six different municipalities.

The Cabildo of Tenerife, through the Crafts area, presented today (18 July) the Craft Fairs that will take place until the end of 2025, in which more than 200 artisans will participate.

The event was presided over by the Councillor for Employment and Education, Efraín Medina; with the attendance of Elsie Tavío, councillor for trade, craftsmanship and the primary sector of Puerto de la Cruz; Manolo González Pestano, councillor for Culture, Identity, and Mónica Monserrat Yanes Delgado, councillor for Municipal Companies, both from the Candelaria Town Hall; and Mariano Pérez, mayor of El Sauzal.

Efraín Medina explained that the aim is to promote the work that professionals in the craft sector do. “These types of fairs allow artisans to showcase their work to the public. Thus, one of our priorities is to foster the marketing, quality, and innovation of handcrafted products throughout the geography of the island,” Medina commented.

Elsie Tavío highlighted the importance of the craft fair in Puerto de la Cruz for the dissemination of artisan values and for the participants and attendees themselves. Likewise, Mariano Pérez thanked the Cabildo for its “decided and constant” support to municipalities in order to develop such initiatives. Finally, Manolo González emphasised the role of the Patron of the Canary Islands fair, as it acts as a perfect connection bridge to the festivities of the Villa Mariana.

Until the end of 2025, a total of seven craft fairs will be held in six different municipalities. They are as follows:

5th Craft Market (Puerto de la Cruz)

It will take place on the 25th, 26th, and 27th of July 2025 in the Plaza Reyes Católicos, featuring an infrastructure of 30 tents of 9 m² (3×3), for individual use. It will accommodate a maximum of 30 artisans.
