The facilities benefiting from these improvements are the sports complexes in Valle Jiménez, Milán, Villa Hilaria, and the football pitch in Tejina.
The Town Hall of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, through the Autonomous Sports Organisation (OAD), has initiated the contracting process for the supply of materials intended for repair works on fencing at various municipal sports facilities.
Additionally, interventions have already begun in some of these spaces, such as the sports complex in Valle Jiménez, where the work has been completed. The next action is scheduled at the football pitch in Tejina, which will soon be joined by the sports complexes in Milán and Villa Hilaria.
The president of the OAD, Badel Albelo, noted that “the Town Council continues to work to improve and keep our sports facilities in optimal condition, addressing both technical criteria and the demands of users.”
Albelo also added that “these actions are fundamental to ensuring safe and adequate spaces for sports practice in our neighbourhoods.”
The contract involves the purchase of galvanised tubes, welded wire mesh, and other materials necessary for the planned improvements.
This action responds to the need to keep the aforementioned sports facilities in a safe condition for use, some of which have deteriorated or even non-existent fencing.
With this initiative, the Town Hall reaffirms its commitment to the maintenance and improvement of municipal sports infrastructure, a key element in promoting healthy habits and social cohesion through sport.
