These works correspond to the annual road conditioning plan that the Council schedules, based on the level of wear of certain roads
The Department of Works, Infrastructure and Accessibility of La Laguna Council is progressing with the planned resurfacing actions for the coming months at various points in the municipality. Throughout this month of July, work has been carried out on different streets in the vicinity of Taco.
The Mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, explained that these works are designed by the technical and political team of the Department, prioritising the connections that bear the most traffic load throughout the year and those that come with requests from residents or businesses in the area, strengthening collaboration between the population and the administration.
The councillor responsible for this department, Ángel Chinea, detailed that the roads which have been the subject of these interventions include San Luis, Roque del Este, and Candelaria streets. Recently, San José Obrero street has also been addressed, both in the ascending and descending direction.
The councillor for Works, Infrastructure, and Accessibility also noted that other significant works will begin in the coming weeks, such as the resurfacing of the San Benito roundabout and similar tasks on streets in areas like Las Gavias, La Verdellada, and Los Majuelos.
The reason for scheduling these interventions at this time of year relates to the decrease in the number of vehicles due to holidays and school closures, which facilitates these works and causes less inconvenience to the residents of La Laguna. In fact, many of these projects are closely linked to the proximity and impact on school centres in the municipality.
The La Laguna City Council has expressed gratitude for the collaboration and understanding shown to date by the affected population and has requested that residents continue to follow the instructions of the workers and the installed signage, where they will find all relevant information regarding temporary road closures and diversions. Additionally, traditional mailings have been carried out to notify in advance the reasons, duration, and changes that will result from these resurfacing works.
