The intervention includes the installation of a new shelter, the renovation of the wall, and tactile paving
The Cabildo of Tenerife, through the Department of Mobility, has commenced the improvement of the bus stop located in Valle Guerra. Specifically, this is bus stop number 1931, which is situated on the TF-16 at kilometre point 2+200 in the municipality of La Laguna. The work will involve installing a new shelter, renovating the existing wall, and adding tactile paving.
The Councillor for Mobility, Eulalia García, explains that the department had identified the aforementioned stop as needing improvement, as this had also been requested by some users.
This intervention is part of the plan for the conservation and enhancement of the 2,251 bus stops on the island, with a total investment of €3.7 million. It is worth noting that Tenerife is one of the islands with the highest number of public transport stops in the archipelago, with 1,179 in the north and 1,072 in the south.
Interventions at the stops
Eulalia García states that the contract “includes very specific actions, such as installing and removing shelters based on their condition or service needs; routine cleaning of stops according to established frequencies; periodic reviews and preventive maintenance actions; scheduled replacement of non-urgent functional elements; and the creation of an updated inventory to enhance accessibility, safety, and quality of transport.”
Furthermore, García points out that the Department of Mobility has already acted on stops located in strategic points such as Llano del Moro, the preferred stop at San Isidro, El Fraile, Los Cristianos, the Northern Hospital, El Trompo, or the area of El Rincón in La Orotava. We are now taking a further step, with an investment that allows us to act comprehensively across the entire network of stops.
