A defendant charged with a public health offence has accepted a sentence of three years and one day in prison, along with a fine of 8,000 euros.
This follows police intervention on 9 July 2024 at his home in the Taco neighbourhood of Tenerife, where nearly six grams of cocaine with a purity of 45% were seized.
Additionally, 84 wraps of heroin weighing a total of 63 grams with a purity of 12% were found, substances that would have had a street value of nearly 4,000 euros.
Furthermore, 3,070 euros in cash were found, which the police attribute to the illicit activities the defendant was conducting from his flat through intermediaries.
The plea agreement was ratified before the hearing set in the Provincial Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, as the accused accepted his guilt.
The police investigation began in June 2024 when the Drug and Organised Crime Unit (UDYCO) established surveillance in José Hernández Arocha Square in Taco, after receiving information regarding drug trafficking in the area.
It was observed that after contacting various buyers in bars and establishments, the dealers would access the home of the now convicted individual to collect the drugs for distribution.
As a result, on 13 June, one of the dealers allegedly working for the defendant was found in possession of a wrap containing 0.46 grams of heroin with an 11% purity.
On the same day, another intermediary was apprehended with half a gram of heroin with a 9% purity.
On 19 June, another dealer was caught with 0.44 grams of heroin at 11%, nearly half a gram of cocaine at 57.2%, around half a gram of heroin with an 11% purity, and two bags containing two grams of cocaine.
