The Council of Candelaria has publicly condemned the vandalism reported in the La Cardonera car park, where graffiti bearing the message “Migue, I can’t get over you… don’t report me” has covered a wall that had just been refurbished.
As explained by the Council through their social media, the improvement and painting works in this public space had been completed the day before by staff from the Employment Enterprise. Surprise and frustration arrived this morning upon discovering that the freshly restored surface was marred by a spray-painting that, apart from constituting a crime against public property, represents a lack of respect towards the hard work of municipal employees.
“Urban furniture and public spaces are the heritage of all Candelarians,” the Council has reminded, making a call for civility and respect. “We say NO to graffiti and NO to vandalism,” they have insisted.
The Council has requested the collaboration of the public to report such behaviours, with the aim of preserving the cleanliness and good condition of the municipality. “Caring for Candelaria is a collective task,” they emphasise.
