The helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Canary Islands Government rescued a 44-year-old hiker this Sunday after she suffered a moderate syncope on the Cruz del Carmen to Bajamar trail, in the Tenerife municipality of La Laguna, according to the Coordination Centre for Emergencies and Safety (CECOES) 112 of the Canary Islands Government.
Around 3:00pm, 1-1-2 received an alert that a hiker required medical assistance.
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources and rescuers from the GES helicopter descended from the aircraft and reached the affected individual, who had suffered a syncope.
After providing her with initial attention, they proceeded with her rescue and lifted her into the aircraft to evacuate her to the helipad at La Guancha.
Once on the ground, the medical staff took over her care and transported her to the Hospital del Norte.
