Yesteryear’s Struggles, Today’s Pride: Not a Step Back in Rights – This is the Motto for LGTBIQ+ Pride Day

The Minister of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Children and Families, Candelaria Delgado, appealed to the “commitment of all citizens to maintain progress in equality and diversity” during the presentation of the Canary Islands Government’s institutional campaign for the upcoming 28th June, International LGTBIQ+ Pride Day.

“It is our priority to protect the rights of the most vulnerable people and make diversity realities visible,” she added, noting that “we cannot afford to take a step back in the fight for rights because we still need to continue advocating. That’s why we’ve launched a campaign that recovers historical memory and focuses on what we still need to achieve.”
