A 60-year-old woman is in serious condition after being revived from cardiac arrest when lifeguards rescued her from the water at El Médano beach, in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona, Tenerife, as reported by 1-1-2 Canarias.

The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of Canary Islands received an alert informing that lifeguards had pulled a swimmer in cardiac arrest out of the water.

The lifeguards began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which continued at an advanced stage by the SUC healthcare personnel upon arriving at the scene, managing to reverse the cardiac arrest.

After stabilising her, she was transferred in a medicalised ambulance to the Hospital Universitario Ntra. Sra. de La Candelaria in a serious condition.

The local police assisted the medical resources, and the Civil Guard handled the relevant proceedings.
