This Sunday, 15th June, the city of Puerto de la Cruz will burst into colour, rhythm, and joy with the arrival of the India Summer Festival – Holi, a free event taking place at Plaza Escultor Ángel Acosta Martín, from 14:00 to 22:00. Entry is free and everyone is invited to enjoy a day full of culture, diversity, and celebration.
Holi is one of the most iconic festivals of India, known worldwide as the festival of colours and love. With ancient roots, this celebration marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring, symbolising the triumph of good over evil, as well as the renewal of hope, harmony, and new beginnings. During Holi, people throw bright-coloured powders into the air and at each other, creating an atmosphere of joy, equality, and unity, where social differences disappear amidst laughter and dances.
Inspired by this beautiful tradition, the India Summer Festival brings together the best of Indian culture in a festive and family-friendly environment. At 14:00, the day will begin with the opening of food stalls, crafts, and workshops. At 16:00, the talented Sheri will offer a Bollywood masterclass, followed by a performance by the group Club India Kids, who will bring the stage to life with their youthful energy.
The official welcome and the first colour throw will be at 16:30, marking the symbolic start of this Holi experience. Next, DJ HARSH will entertain with his musical selection from 16:45. At 17:30, one of the most anticipated moments will arrive: the performance by artist Salomé, which will include animation and the second colour throw, enhancing the magic of the event.
The afternoon will continue with dance animation at 18:30, followed by the set from the popular DJ VIK at 18:45. The third colour throw will take place at 19:00, ensuring a vibrant and participatory atmosphere. At 20:00, the workshop and sales tents, managed by Club India, will close, and at 21:00, activities in the gastronomic area, offering exquisite flavours of the Indian subcontinent, will conclude. The festival will close at 21:45, with a warm “Thank you for coming!” to all attendees.
The India Summer Festival 2025 is not just a festive event but an opportunity to immerse yourself in a rich, spiritual, and joyous culture, where respect, music, dance, and diversity intertwine in a free and open show for all audiences.
