The fire of a vehicle early this Sunday forced the closure of the TF-5, the northern motorway, at El Sauzal, in the northbound lanes for approximately half an hour.
Personnel from the Tenerife Fire Consortium extinguished the flames and, following the intervention of Tenerife Island Council road services, the affected lanes were reopened at kilometre 20.
No personal injuries occurred in the incident, although it caused significant traffic jams, according to sources from 1-1-2 Canarias. Local Police officers, Guardia Civil, Canary Police and staff from the Island Council’s Road Service also intervened.
