The plenary session of the Tenerife Council noted the vacancy in the position of councillor in the Socialist group this Wednesday due to the resignation of Pedro Martín, who will be replaced by Daniel Pérez, who was 19th on the party’s list in the 2023 elections.
Pedro Martín, who was spokesperson for the Socialist group in the Tenerife Council and former president of the island corporation in the previous term, announced on 29th May his decision to resign as island councillor.
Martín, who is also a senator for Tenerife, made this announcement at the end of an extraordinary plenary session of the Council and it took “everyone by surprise”, as acknowledged at the time by President Rosa Dávila (CC).
This Wednesday, in another extraordinary plenary session convened to present the economic and financial plan of the island corporation, the institution’s secretary proceeded to read the vacancy produced by this resignation and communicated that the Central Electoral Board will be asked to send the corresponding accreditation for his successor.
According to the list for the July 2023 local elections registered by the PSOE, this position corresponds to Daniel Pérez Díaz, who was listed at number 19 as published in the Official Gazette of the Province.
