CANARY EVENTS | Tenerife North Runway Blocked After Emergency Landing: Flights Halted and Diverted to Tenerife South

The airport of Tenerife North has resumed its usual operations after being temporarily blocked due to an incident with an ATR plane coming from La Palma. The aircraft had to make an emergency landing which left the runway unusable for more than 40 minutes.

During the interruption, inter-island flight departures destined for this airport were suspended, and at least two flights were diverted to Tenerife South airport.

Additionally, significant operational delays were reported for safety reasons, and up to 17 flights scheduled to depart before 11:00 remained on standby.

After the involved plane was removed, air activity has resumed in Tenerife North, and flights are beginning to operate normally.
