During the visit of Their Majesties to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Goretti Almeida, managing director of ECAEDU, and José María Segura S.J., the organisation’s general director, had the chance to meet with Queen Letizia. They symbolically presented her with the honour of being an esteemed alumna of the gender violence prevention course that this educational institution promotes.

The honour, they explained, recognises “all the work she does on this issue nationally, given her position.” “She was delightful,” Almeida and Segura recounted. “She stayed with us for a little while, despite the large crowd. It was wonderful.”

ECAEDU is an organisation dedicated to training and raising awareness on social issues, with a focus on preventing gender-based violence, inclusion, and civic participation. Through courses, workshops, and educational projects, it operates in both community and professional settings with an emphasis on human rights and social intervention.
