The Provincial Confederation of Employers of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (CEOE Tenerife) has recognised the Lopesan Group as one of the companies with the highest social reputation in the Canary Islands. This accolade is based on a study regarding the social recognition of businesses and entrepreneurs in the Canary Islands, conducted by the organisation with input from over a thousand respondents. The company will be publicly honoured on 13th June during the annual CEOE Tenerife assembly.

This commendation is awarded due to the company’s commitment to the welfare of the Canary Islands, establishing its reputation not only as a key economic player but also as an organisation with a significant social and environmental impact.

For those surveyed, this commitment to the Canarian society is evident through its contributions to the economy and job creation on the islands. The Lopesan Group, an undisputed leader in the Canary Islands’ tourism sector, ranks among the top ten companies nationally in this field and acts as a crucial employment driver, providing job opportunities to over 5,000 people. This figure not only reflects its business magnitude but also its meaningful contribution to the wellbeing of thousands of Canarian families.

Founded in 1972, the company began with public construction projects. Since then, it has undergone a notable transformation, becoming a dynamic and enterprising multinational which has effectively diversified its activities and expanded its international presence. Nowadays, the group covers a wide array of sectors including, besides hospitality, construction, tourism, real estate promotion, clean energy, marina operations, agriculture, and leisure, thereby solidifying its position as a key player in multiple areas of the economy.

This distinction is added to other recognitions it has received over its more than 50 years of trajectory, including the Canary Islands Gold Medal, the Roque Nublo of Tourism from the Gran Canaria Council, the Spanish Red Cross Gold Medal, the designation as Favourite Son of Gran Canaria, as well as the Canary Islands Government Medal for Tourism Excellence.

These awards and personal accolades for the leadership of Eustasio López at the helm of the company reinforce Lopesan’s status as an outstanding Canarian enterprise and as a catalyst for change and social welfare in the Canary Islands, whose legacy has been acknowledged throughout the years.
