Santa Cruz de Tenerife will experience a vibrant day this Thursday, 5th June, packed with events for Armed Forces Day, set to be celebrated on Saturday. The capital of Tenerife will host two main attractions: a military music gathering in Plaza de España and a naval equipment exhibition at the port dock, which remains open for another day.
The exciting day kicked off at 10:00 am with the opening of a static military equipment display and the chance to tour Navy ships at the Anaga Dock on the south pier. This exhibit, located along the 3rd alignment, will be open until 7:00 pm, allowing visitors to get up close with naval means and gear used by the Armed Forces. If you can’t make it today, don’t worry—it will remain open until Sunday for all Canary Islanders to enjoy the Navy ships.
This display will be accompanied by dynamic demonstrations from soldiers, and visitors can tour certain ships, such as the aircraft carrier Juan Carlos I, which welcomes aboard visitors on Saturday and Sunday.
Tenerife is abuzz with music and military tradition
The highlight of the day arrives in the afternoon with the military music parade, setting off at 6:15 pm through the main streets of the town centre. The event culminates with a grand musical gathering at 7:15 pm in Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s Plaza de España.
