The Adeje Town Hall has temporarily closed the beach in El Puertito for swimming, due to high levels of fecal bacteria in the sea.
The local corporation details on social media that the incident has been reported “to the competent administrations,” and the protocol for information, monitoring, and closure has been activated.
It adds that as soon as the water analyses are suitable for swimming, El Puertito will reopen.
In recent weeks, up to six beaches in the south of Tenerife, including El Puertito de Adeje, have been closed due to the presence of fecal bacteria, adding to the nearly year-long closure of Playa Jardín in Puerto de la Cruz for the same reason.
