Civil Guard agents have recently arrested two men in Candelaria, Tenerife, with numerous criminal records and residents of the aforementioned locality, for their involvement in two crimes of burglary and one crime against public health, occurring in the municipality.
The accused allegedly broke into a private residence in early May, where they carried out a burglary. The agents, upon receiving the report from the victim, began an investigation and managed to identify the possible perpetrators, at which point efforts were made to locate them, as explained by the security body this Thursday.
Upon being located, a device was established, and they were arrested. Once detained, various pieces of jewelry, a bag with 21 grams of cocaine and 6.5 grams of hashish, 2,000 euros in cash, a compressed air pistol replica of a firearm, and a personal defense spray were found among their belongings.
While the proceedings initiated by the agents were being finalized to bring the detainees to judicial disposal, a person presented themselves at the Civil Guard premises to file a report for a robbery they had suffered in their home days earlier, which had not been detected until then.
According to the statement of that person and the description of the objects that had been stolen, the agents verified that it could be the jewelry found at the time of the arrest. After showing them to the complainant, she was able to recognize them immediately and without a doubt as her own, which led to a second charge of burglary.
The detainees, along with the initiated proceedings, have been brought before the competent Judicial Authority, ordering the imprisonment of one of the detainees, with numerous prior records.
