A man in his forties has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his 66-year-old mother in the home they shared in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. The incident occurred around 10:00 pm this Wednesday on Los Guanches Street, in the Barrio Nuevo area. According to sources involved in the investigation, the crime followed a family argument, the causes of which have yet to be determined by the authorities. The suspected assailant was spotted by neighbours hurriedly leaving the premises, prompting the initial alerts.
Following calls from local residents, officers from the National Police and the La Laguna Local Police swiftly arrived at the scene. Inside the property, they discovered the woman’s lifeless body covered with a blanket, suggesting the crime may have been premeditated, or at the very least, the attacker attempted to conceal the aftermath. The investigation is ongoing to clarify the details of the case.
