The social educator and influencer Rudy Ruymán warns that he must wait six months from when he filed his claim for patrimonial responsibility with the municipalities of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Candelaria, from which he is claiming 150,000 euros each for allowing Mamelucos and Trapaseros to perform songs that he believes attack his honor by calling him racist and inciting hatred. He plans to later claim triple the amount in compensation. “If after this period the administrations have not responded, I will directly file a lawsuit with the contentious-administrative courts. Although the municipalities were not the direct authors of the slander, libel, and damage to honor, this does not exempt them from the patrimonial responsibility for the events they allowed in a public space,” says the social educator, referencing the finale of murgas in the Tenerife capital and the Murga Meeting of Candelaria, where both groups performed and interpreted the songs that have been denounced. Rudy Ruymán insists on targeting both municipalities because they “allowed or facilitated the use of a public space for a performance containing injurious, slanderous, offensive, and false expressions, damaging my honor and health.” He adds that, following his lawyer’s instructions, “if an understanding is not reached, triple the compensation currently claimed, 150,000 euros from each municipality, will be requested.” Subscribe to keep reading.
