In High-Risk Dangerous Places
The numerous bus stops without pedestrian crossings in Tenerife pose a risk to pedestrian safety and hinder access to public transport. The lack of proper signage and pedestrian crossings near the stops increases the probability of accidents and creates mobility issues for users with reduced mobility.

Guaza
This is what happens at the Guaza stop next to the TF-1 highway that connects the capital with the south of the Island, an island surrounded by three roads with no way to leave it. A complaint about these “imaginary” pedestrian crossings has gone viral on the Instagram account @despiertatenerife, and it has received a heated response from many users who have shared other locations in Tenerife where there is also no safe way to reach or leave the various public transport pickup points.

Many examples
Buzanada, Tíncer, industrial area and Puertito de Güímar, Costanera, Chayofa,… there are numerous examples shared by thousands of residents on the island since the post was published, often in locations where many children pass, or which have been dangerous enough to have claimed several lives.

A user recounts a case that has been ongoing for almost a decade regarding their mother, who died after being hit on the La Esperanza road, exactly at the same spot where a traffic light had long been requested. The account that posted the publication urges those who see the video to share other locations lacking a pedestrian crossing to give them visibility and demand action from the authorities. More and more cases are emerging.
