This is not just another pizzeria, nor a classic trattoria. What has opened its doors at Tenerife North Airport is a gastronomic experience for those seeking more than a snack while waiting for their flight. It’s called La Boutique Trattoria Viajera, an Italian franchise with a globetrotter spirit, arriving in the Canary Islands ready to redefine airport dining.
Located in the Airside departures area, past security checks, this trattoria invites you to pack your culinary suitcases and embark on a journey of flavors. Its menu is designed like a culinary passport: from artisan pastas to pizza al taglio with unique combinations, and includes fresh salads, gratin dishes, spiced rice, and international desserts.
A concept traveling throughout Spain with a common denominator: the Italian base. While the ingredients may come from around the world, the heart of the kitchen beats with tomato, basil, parmesan, and tradition.
“Our proposal is like a journey that always persists in our memory,” say the brand representatives. Indeed, amidst the warmth of wood, freshness of plants, and a modern, cozy atmosphere, this trattoria promises more than just good food; it offers a soulful pause.
La Boutique Trattoria Viajera was born in 2017 with a clear purpose: to bring Italian fusion cuisine to every corner of the country. Since then, they’ve opened locations combining the best of Italian recipes with flavors and techniques from other traditions. In Tenerife, their arrival at the terminal is a direct nod to those who see travel as something to be savored.
According to their website, their cuisine is made “by travelers at heart, in love with spicy flavors, exotic sauces, and ingredients that cross oceans.” But they also pay homage to their roots: “we love the crunch of freshly baked focaccia, pastas made the old-fashioned way, or cured meats from the cold of Trento.”
Hours for those always on the go
The new restaurant opens with hours adapted to peak movement times at the airport. On Mondays, it operates from 06:00 to 19:00, ideal for early risers. From Tuesday to Thursday, it opens from 12:00 to 19:00, and over the weekend, from Friday to Sunday, it returns to extended hours from 06:00 to 19:00, ensuring service for both early departures and late returns.
Among its star dishes are pastas made in their own workshop, with sauces ranging from classic pesto to creations inspired by Asian or Latin American cuisine. The pizza al taglio, typical of Italy, is presented with international combinations including exotic ingredients, perfect for those wanting to try something new.
There are also salads, rice dishes, gratin offerings, and sweets. A broad, balanced menu designed for the whole family, where even the little ones will find options to their liking. More information can be found on their website.
