Access to Private Garages Restricted in the Armed Forces Parade Zone in Santa Cruz de Tenerife This Saturday

The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in coordination with the military logistics units for the Armed Forces Parade next Saturday, June 7, will limit access to garages located in the area influenced by the event for security reasons, from 07:00 to 16:00 hours, at which point full operability will be restored.

This impact is due to the central event and military parade for the Armed Forces Day 2025 (DIFAS 2025), a major event that will be attended by the Kings of Spain, as detailed by the City Council in a statement this Monday.

The restrictions and limitations that will occur in the use of public and private garages in the area aim to minimize inconvenience for residents and visitors while ensuring the security and smooth running of the event, adds the municipal note.

The statement adds that the parking lots of the Meridiano, Nivaria, and El Corte Inglés shopping centers will experience repercussions, as traffic cuts and diversions on the roads adjacent to these points will compromise the capacity of these parkings.

Given the parking restrictions in the area, it’s likely they will reach maximum occupancy and that fluidity in exits will be affected, which could lead to congestion both in finding spaces and in evacuation attempts. Thus, the mentioned shopping centers have been advised to take preventive measures.

In the case of the Santa Cruz Interchange, while vehicle entry will be allowed throughout Saturday, June 7, exit will be restricted until approximately 16:00 hours.

Traffic disruptions will not only affect large parking lots, as the extensive road network will be compromised by scheduled cuts, directly impacting private garages in numerous buildings.

The affected streets and avenues are Avenida de La Constitución; Calle Alcalde José Emilio García Gómez; Avenida Manuel Hermoso Rojas; Calle Adán Martín Menis; Pedro Maffiote Arocha; Vicente Álvarez Pedreira; Celia Cruz; Ermita de Regla; the Víctor Zurita Soler roundabout; and both directions of the TF-4 Highway (South entrance to the city).

The impact will be especially notable in the area bounded by Calle Alcalde José Emilio García Gómez, Áurea Díaz Flores Hernández, and Avenidas Tres de Mayo and La Constitución.

The statement adds that this difficulty will also extend to buildings situated on both sides of Avenidas Tres de Mayo and Manuel Hermoso Rojas (in its section between the Rotary Club roundabout and Calle Alcalde José Emilio García Gómez), La Salle, and Calle Álvaro Rodríguez López, as well as all adjacent roads.

In these areas, the collapse of entry and exit roads will severely hinder the use of garages.

Specifically, buildings located on Avenida Manuel Hermoso Rojas (between Avenida de La Constitución and Calle Alcalde José Emilio García Gómez), Calle Adán Martín Menis (downward direction), and Celia Cruz will experience total impossibility of entering and exiting their garages from 07:00 to 16:00 hours next Saturday.
