A 70-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman were moderately injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles this Tuesday on the TF-5, at kilometer 65, in the municipality of San Juan de la Rambla.
Two weeks ago, another accident occurred on the same road, already reduced to one lane in each direction, near Icod de los Vinos, resulting in six people injured with varying degrees of severity.
In Tuesday’s accident, those affected were referred, one to Bellevue Hospital with an initial diagnosis of moderate trauma to upper and lower limbs; and to the Hospital Universitario de Canarias, with trauma to the upper limb, also of moderate severity.
Both were rescued by firefighters after being trapped inside their respective vehicles, according to sources from 1-1-2 Canarias.
The Canarian Emergency Service also intervened in this emergency, deploying two equipped ambulances and one basic life support unit, along with the Civil Guard and the Road Service.
