Tenerife’s tram also ‘dresses’ by the Canary Islands Day

Coinciding with the Canary Islands Day, the Tenerife tram will look more canary than ever. As if ‘Visit’ from Magic Anaga artisan trades samplewhich is celebrated on July 26.

It is an agreement between the Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Island Company of Crafts and the Sector Council of Tenerife’s clothing and in collaboration with Metropolitan of Tenerife, to carry the town of Taganana and the correct use of traditional clothing to the metropolitan area.

For his part, Gladys de León stressed that “from the district we are very proud that Anaga is seen throughout the city Thanks to this labeled tram, it is very important that Taganana is so present, in the metropolitan area and that the value of this place in our cultural heritage is shown. ”

For his part, Ruyman Cabrera, president of the Fiestas de Tganana said that “for us it has been A dream to see the name of Tagananathrough the promotion of this sample, on a labeled tram. We invite all the people who want to visit Taganana and enjoy the crafts of this exhibition to come, because they will find artisanal and traditional pieces that they could acquire. ”The sample of artisan trades will have a multitude of stands, children’s activities and performance of the Añate folk group.

On the other hand, the Cabildo de Tenerife has taken advantage of the image of the tram to promote, together with the aforementioned exhibition, the campaign “Our identity is fashionable ” which seeks to encourage and raise awareness about the correct use of traditional clothing.

The objectives of the Sectorial Council of the traditional clothing of Tenerife are to perform an analysis and debate on the existing reality on the island in terms of Use of traditional clothing; the impulse of policy development aimed at promoting their good use; and the promotion and support for the dissemination and preservation of artisan trades linked to the typical and traditional clothing of Tenerife.
