Five people sustained injuries of varying severity after a public transport bus collided with a motorcycle on Friday night in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) on Saturday.
Of those injured, two were on the motorcycle: a 34-year-old man with various trauma and a 33-year-old woman who suffered an arm injury, both classified as moderate. The other three, all female bus passengers, were reported to have minor injuries, according to CECOES.
The 112 emergency line was alerted at 11.45 pm on Friday, reporting a traffic accident involving a public transport bus and a motorcycle on Miraflores street in the capital of Tenerife. It was indicated that several individuals required medical assistance.
Staff from the Canary Islands Emergency Department attended to all five affected individuals, with the two motorcycle occupants and three bus passengers being transported to the Hospital Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria—three of them went there, while the others were taken to Parque Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Local Police managed traffic in the area while other emergency services responded and prepared a police report to investigate the incident.
