A 34-year-old motorist tragically lost his life on Saturday following a collision between a car and a motorcycle on Brother Pedro Street, located in the Las Chafiras area of San Miguel de Abona (Tenerife), as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2.
The incident took place around 14:29, when the 1-1-2 control room received an alert about the accident, indicating that several individuals required medical attention. Consequently, CECOES promptly deployed the necessary emergency resources to the scene.
Upon arrival, the Sanario Emergency Department of the Canary Islands emergency services discovered that one of the motorcycle occupants was in cardiorespiratory arrest. Unfortunately, despite attempts at advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation, they could not revive him, and his death was confirmed.
Additionally, emergency services attended to the second occupant of the motorcycle, who was taken to the South Hospital with minor injuries. The motorist of the car involved also had slight abrasions.
Meanwhile, the Local Police regulated traffic in the area and conducted the necessary investigation.
