Revitalising Radazul Alto: Fresh Facade and Reasphalted Streets in El Rosario

Radazul Alto, in El Rosario, has undergone quite a transformation, thanks to the resurfacing of all its streets and other necessary improvements. The completion of these works means that traffic can return to normal after several weeks of resurfacing and repainting the road markings, both at night and during the day, across all the streets in this area. “With this, we are concluding the total renewal of the water supply network, pending only the completion of the water tank renovation, which is still in progress,” said representatives from the Rosariero City Council.

The mayor of El Rosario, Gil Scholastic, noted this Friday that, “with just a few sections of sidewalk left to remodel and the tank to finish, this significant investment of 1.2 million euros has practically completed the renewal of the water network throughout Radazul.” He reminded everyone that these actions began in Radazul earlier in 2023, supported by another substantial funding of two million euros.

One noteworthy aspect is that, alongside these works, two new roundabouts have been introduced on Cortés Street to enhance traffic flow and improve road safety at certain turns and junctions. “These new roundabouts, located at the intersections of Cortés Street with Robledo and Balboa streets, serve a similar purpose to those installed in lower Radazul, helping to enhance safety by reducing left turns and contributing to lower vehicle speeds,” mentioned officials from the Rosariero town hall.

### “Traffic Calm”

Scholastic Gil emphasised the collaboration that occurred throughout the process between the winning contractor, technicians from the Department of Aguas of the Rosariero Council, and the Local Police. This initiative aimed to establish a “traffic calm” roundabout system, which has already been received very positively by residents in Radazul Bajo.

The project in Radazul Alto has resulted in a complete overhaul of the network running through the streets of Cortés, Plano Blanco, Malibu, Candelaria Road (right margin at the intersection with Plano Blanco), Robledo, Alvarado, Valdivia, Gravina, and Balboa. Additionally, it includes the rehabilitation of the Radazul Alto tank, along with the total resurfacing of these roads. “As with the work in Radazul Bajo, this is crucial for having a modern, efficient drinking water distribution network that serves the population effectively,” stated local officials in a note.

### Various Plans

This is not the first time the El Rosario City Council has undertaken resurfacing projects. For instance, in 2022, as part of the II Municipal Asphalting Plan of El Rosario, they worked on 30 locations including La Esperanza, Tabaiba Baja, Llano Blanco, Llano del Moro, and Barranco Hondo. Those works, awarded for over one million euros, were selected based on a prior assessment and reports from the Local Police and the Citizen Security department, prioritising areas that showed significant deterioration and requiring urgent attention. The ultimate goal, alongside the correction of issues identified in public roads, is to enhance the safety and comfort of all users.
