Lope Afonso, the only candidate to preside over the PP of Tenerife, said on Wednesday that his formation is committed to applying in tourism an “intelligent taxation”, which summed up in applying a rate in protected natural spaces, but refused to establish a tax on the night overnight, as has already been implemented in numerous tourist destinations and whose collection is used to preserve, protect and improve the destination.
It should be noted that the PP governs both in the Regional Executive and in several councils and municipalities together with the Canarian coalition, which maintains a contrary position in this matter, since recently the island president, Rosa Dávila, has proposed to establish a Ecotasa to tourist overnight stays on the island.

Mobility in Tenerife
