Condemned to a year and a half of prison a 73 -year -old man for corruption of migrant minors in Tenerife

The Provincial Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has sentenced a 73 -year -old man for one year and six months in prison for considering him author of a crime of corruption of minors of which an inmate was victim at a migrant center in La Laguna, to which he must pay 1,000 euros.

In addition, he has acquitted him from the same position in relation to another minor, since he was not accredited that he was perceptible that he was under 18, to which the lack of documentation of migrants joins when they arrive on the island, while the first did provide medical tests.

The man will remain freely monitored over five years and is prohibited from exercising any profession that is related to direct contact with minors, in case the sentence is firm.

The Prosecutor’s Office accused him of capturing the victims outside this enclosure and then abusing them by touching, after the workers observed that in the afternoon, the defendant parked in the surroundings waiting for the exit of the inmates.

Then some of them got into his car to bring them back hours later to the same place, after having made some gifts or inviting them to eat.

The young people said that the man took them for a walk and offered money, clothing and objects in exchange for having sex, to which one of the minors always refused despite the insistence of the defendant.

As for the other alleged victim, he declared that he was subject to various touching and on his mobile conversations were found saying that he wanted to see him and reproaching him that after buying the phone he had not wanted them to meet again.

The defendant had contact with one of the young people, whose features evidenced that he was a minor, and tried to gain his trust through the purchase of clothing, sneakers, inviting him to eat and give him some money.

During the trial, various screenshots of these conversations of a terminal whose property recognized the defendant, who said it was the inmates who approached him and who tried to help them food were contributed, offered to take them to the Santa Cruz mosque and denied any sexual contact.

He also assured that he always transferred them in a group and that he was never alone with any of them.

Once the center learned what happened he notified the police, which identified the defendant outside the outside of the enclosure but could not stop him since there were no solid indications to commit a crime.
