City Council Approves Five Homes for Use After La Laguna Explosion Evictions

The City Council of La Laguna has permitted the use of five of the six homes that were evacuated on Monday night following an explosion in a residence where an elderly woman lost her life on Verdugo and Masssieu street.

The incident occurred around 23:00 on Monday, prompting a preventive evacuation of nine individuals from nearby properties.

The council specifies that the dwelling at number 46 remains sealed due to identified structural damage, and urban planning authorities will implement necessary measures to ensure the property’s safety and inform the owners.

They have also ratified an urgency declaration so that a team can commence the removal of debris from public roads, allowing the Local Police to clear the affected vehicles, and a provisional perimeter fence will be established for safety.

Regarding the residence where the fire transpired, the technical teams will not be able to enter the premises, and therefore, they cannot take any action until the investigation by the National Police concludes.
