Six individuals sustained varying degrees of injury in a traffic incident that transpired on Friday along the TF-5, near the municipality of Icod de los Vinos, involving six vehicles, as stated by the 1-1-2 Canary Islands service.
The incident took place at 14:40, when the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Canary Islands government received an alert regarding the collision of six vehicles and that individuals required medical assistance.
A total of five ambulances were dispatched, along with personnel from the Canarian Emergency Department (SUC), and Tenerife Firefighters, who extricated one of the injured from a vehicle and provided necessary care.
The road was closed to traffic to facilitate the operations of the active emergency services.
Medical personnel assessed the injured parties, which included a 25-year-old woman who had suffered moderate trauma.
Additionally, a 29-year-old woman and three men aged 35, 28, and 24 were reported with minor contusions or neck pain, and were subsequently transported to medical facilities in the northern region of the island.
A 19-year-old female was also taken to the Hospital del Norte for further evaluation.
Highway maintenance crews cleared the road prior to its reopening to traffic.
Local police assisted the emergency services, while the Civil Guard supervised traffic flow and carried out the necessary investigations.
