Searching for the Missing Polish in Tenerife Waters: An Ongoing Struggle

The third operation conducted to search for the Polish minor who vanished two and a half months ago at Charco del Viento, located on Tenerife’s northern coast, has concluded without success, as reported on Wednesday by the platform Canary Islands, 1,500 km of coast.

Arek, a Polish national, went missing on the morning of February 22 while in the waters of La Guancha, after being swept away by a large wave.

Approximately twenty volunteers took part in the operation, which included a pair of Swiss firefighters and divers.

The operation was coordinated by this platform from 4:00 p.m. until the evening of Tuesday.

Sebastián Quintana, the president of the organisation, commended the collaboration of Acudropol, an association of drone operators comprising professionals from various police forces across the archipelago.

In total, six divers equipped with complete immersion gear participated, alongside six highly experienced apneists, a boat, and ground safety support.

The platform indicated that the child’s family has sent a message of gratitude from Poland, expressing their appreciation for the “commitment, help, and support” extended towards them, stating that “if one day the ocean decides to return us, you will be near.”
