SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 29. (Press Europa) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife has announced that, although telephone communications with the 1-1-2 emergency line have been restored, the Insular Emergency Plan for Tenerife (PEIN) will remain in an active monitoring state until communications are definitively stabilised.
Nevertheless, in light of the potential for specific incidents, coordination with local police, the National Police, Civil Guard, and Civil Protection across all municipalities continues.
Should any issues with communications arise, residents can visit the nearest continuous care centres, Local Police Units, or Civil Guard stations, where assistance will be provided via internal channels, as detailed by the corporation in a statement.
The Cabildo de Tenerife has urged all island mayors to ensure that local police and other security forces are available to enhance visibility on the streets and assist citizens while this monitoring situation persists.
The aim, it further explains, is to ensure immediate assistance for any incidents that may occur.
From the Insular Corporation, citizens are reminded of the importance of remaining calm, adhering to authorities’ instructions, and using mobile phones responsibly to prevent overwhelming communication networks.
The president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, emphasised that “even though the service has been restored, it is the council’s duty to exercise extreme caution and ensure that the entire population is safeguarded against any eventualities.”
In this regard, she noted that “we are working in a coordinated manner with the government and municipalities to ensure an immediate response should any new incidents arise.”
In addition, the Minister of Natural Environment, Sustainability, Security and Emergencies, Blanca Pérez, highlighted that all available resources have been activated and requested collaboration from municipalities to enhance support for the community.
“The priority remains to ensure that any emergency can be addressed swiftly and safely,” she stated.
