Suspect Captured in Santa Cruz de Tenerife After Series of Nearly Twelve Theft Incidents

Officers from the National Police have apprehended a 42-year-old individual as the suspected perpetrator of multiple crimes against property in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The arrested individual did not have a fixed address and was constantly on the move, often sleeping outdoors, which posed a challenge, as noted by the police.

Since February this year, officers have been conducting a targeted operation aimed at combating thefts in various districts of the capital of Tenerife.

The investigations revealed distinct patterns in the execution of the crimes, notably the ‘modus operandi’ of the suspect, who consistently broke the windows of vehicles.

Following thorough analytical work by the investigators, they were able to narrow down and locate the suspect, concluding that it was indeed the same individual—a 42-year-old man arrested for the alleged commission of seven burglaries of vehicles and two thefts. One theft occurred in a healthcare facility, where he stole bags and mobile phones while taking advantage of patients’ carelessness during treatment.

The detainee was presented to the appropriate judicial authority in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, who subsequently ordered his incarceration.
