This Sunday, April 27, Santa Cruz de Tenerife will be the venue for the second edition of the Solidarity Race “Bicentennial National Police 091”, organised by the National Police. This event will necessitate significant alterations to traffic and parking in various streets throughout the city centre.

The Local Council has announced that the two scheduled races, one for children and one for adults, will commence and conclude at the Francisco Grandi Giraud promenade, adjacent to Maritime Avenue. From 10:00 a.m. and until the conclusion of the event, traffic will be impacted by closures and diversions in multiple locations.

All closures and diversions

On Maritime Avenue, both lanes heading towards San Andrés will be closed, starting from the Rotonda de Tres de Mayo to the Coastline Tunnel. The two tunnel lanes in the direction of San Andrés will also be shut, continuing the closure along Francisco La Roche Avenue to the North Pier.

On San Sebastián Avenue, the descending lane will be blocked from the Nuestra Señora de Africa market to Bravo Murillo, with traffic between San Sebastián and the Plaza de España being halted in the latter area.

Other restrictions will affect the rear street of Correos, situated between General Gutiérrez and Bravo Murillo, as well as the bike lane between the northern dock and San Sebastián Avenue. To facilitate traffic flow, both lanes of Francisco La Roche, between La Rambla and the Alameda Duque de Santa Elena, will operate in the opposite direction to normal.

Vehicles travelling along Constitution Avenue towards Maritime Avenue and Anaga Avenue will be rerouted from the auditorium through the dock area. Furthermore, in the stretch between La Rambla and the North Pier, the two lanes furthest from the sea will be opened for two-way traffic.

Traffic from Villalba Hervás and the parking area at Plaza de España will be redirected for the Navy to architect Marrero Regalado and San Isidro. Access to garages in affected locations, such as Imeldo Seris, Dr. Allart, Post Office, Antonio Domínguez Alfonso, Padre Moure, La Noria Calzada, Santo Domingo, and Candelaria, will also be redirected via alternative streets.

In Aguere, one traffic lane will be designated for garage exit, and the General Gutiérrez Mellado bridge will permit exit to Father Anchieta. Vehicles descending through the Barranco de Santos will be diverted by the bridge towards Aguere and Father Anchieta. Traffic on the extensions of Ramón y Cajal and Nifá Nifá Afilamonic streets will also be diverted.

For access to the Anaga neighbourhoods, a two-way lane will be established from the Rambla de Santa Cruz to Anaga Avenue. This access will be created by diverting traffic from the auditorium through the inner route of the spring.

Public transport

The Guaguas stop on Francisco La Roche in front of number 49G will be temporarily relocated before the intersection with North Pier. Guaguas line 914 will be suspended, while lines 909, 910, 916, 917, 945, and 947 will operate within the port, providing a stop at the dock exit.

Line 919 will alter its route in the upward direction, utilising the Serrador bridge and several adjacent streets. In the downward direction, it will operate via Luis de la Cruz, Avenida de Belgica, and San Sebastián. Additionally, lines 920 and 921 will also navigate through the dock area and follow their customary routes via the Ramblas and Tres de Mayo.

The 9167 stop on Anaga Avenue will be moved 50 metres to the northern dock. During the race, the stops located along the course will be out of service.

Concerning the tram service, as the event will traverse Bravo Murillo Avenue at two points (Imeldo Seris and San Sebastián), service will be interrupted, with the Teatro Guimerá stop serving as the point of journey during the event.
