A GES Helicopter has successfully rescued a 45-year-old trekker on Saturday, following a fall in the mountainous region, Las Cañadas del Teide, situated in the municipality of Vilaflor (Tenerife), as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:19 p.m., when the 1-1-2 call centre received a notification regarding the occurrence in a hard-to-access area, prompting CECOES to promptly mobilise the necessary emergency resources to respond to the situation.
Rescuers from the GES Helicopter located the individual and, after hoisting them aboard, transported them to the Adeje helisuperficie, where a basic life support ambulance from the SUC was waiting.
Once at the site, healthcare professionals from the Canarian Emergency Department assessed and treated the individual, who had sustained a moderate trauma to a lower limb.
An ambulance was dispatched to take them to the South Hospital.
The effective emergency response also involved firefighters, who secured the helicopter’s landing and assisted the responding teams. The Civil Guard managed the documentation.
