SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE APR. (Press Europa) –
The Gala for the Presentation of the 2025 Repsol Guide, which took place on March 17 at the Guimerá Theatre in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, organised by the Cabildo in collaboration with Tourism of Tenerife and Repsol Guide, has made quite an impact from Tenerife, garnering over 1,150 mentions across print and digital media, radio, and national television.
This figure increases to 1,336 mentions when considering activities leading up to the gala, according to data supplied by Repsol Guide and relayed by the Cabildo de Tenerife in a statement.
The vice president and tourism advisor of the Cabildo, Lope Afonso, noted that this event positioned the island as “the focal point of national gastronomy” through one of its most prestigious occasions, the Gala de los Soles 2025 of the Repsol Guide.
“We are in a fortunate position not only because we have hosted the Gala de los Soles 2025 of the Repsol Guide in Tenerife but also because critical strides have been made for the island to remain a reference point, enabling much of our community and economy to be connected with it,” he remarked.
Furthermore, the CEO of Tourism of Tenerife, Dimple Melwani, highlighted how “the delivery gala of the Repsol Guide marks another significant gastronomic milestone for the island and its tourism potential, shining a light on its culinary scene, talent, and the immense possibilities that Tenerife offers.”
Melwani acknowledged the challenges faced in hosting this gala, emphasising that it required “months of preparation and coordination” between the Tenerife Tourism team and the Repsol Guide.
Impact of the Gala
The statistics indicate that the gala and its associated events, including popular chickpea dishes in Our Lady of Africa and breakfasts provided by leading national chefs in various establishments in Santa Cruz, received substantial coverage from major national media outlets, many of which featured it on their front pages, both in print and online, along with live connections or exclusive reports on radio and television.
In addition, the gala alone recorded 77 mentions in digital press, 226 in print media, 87 on radio, and 59 on television.
Regarding social media, the Repsol Guide’s platforms achieved 4.1 million total impressions from March 14, continuing for several days post-gala, with a remarkable 99% positive engagement.
Specifically, one million mentions were noted just from stories during the event, which saw over a thousand acknowledgments, significantly amplifying the usual dialogue on social media concerning the Repsol Guide.
In addition, the Cabildo highlights that the preceding activities attracted 32% more audience than those recorded in the previous edition of the gala, which was held in Cartagena.
The Soles 2025 delivery gala of the Repsol Guide in Tenerife was attended by 735 individuals, including 158 awarded chefs with Repsol soles, alongside all the island’s chefs recognised by Repsol.
