The Passion of Adeje (Tenerife), one of the most significant theatrical and cultural exhibitions of the town, attracted nearly nine thousand attendees in person.
The staging of this remarkable play, lasting almost two hours and unique in its format, took place on the grand street and Plaza de España de Adeje at midday on Good Friday, as noted by the City Council in their statement.
Furthermore, the weather was favourable throughout the performance, with no incidents reported during the event.
The mayor of Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, emphasised the social and communal significance of the passion in a statement: “It is a source of pride to witness how, with each edition, hundreds of locals from Adeje and visitors from across the island reaffirm their commitment to the representation of the passion.”
“This is a day that brings the community together and enriches the municipality, and we are pleased to share it with everyone through various media and social platforms,” he added.
Approximately 300 performers
This year, around 300 amateur actors participated in ‘La Pasión’, along with the technical and logistical teams who make this representation possible year after year.
The event has been organised by the cultural department, overseen by Adolfo Alonso, with theatrical direction by Laura Marrero and artistic direction by Freya Jaén and Conrado Díaz, including contributions from the Department of the Department, technicians, and those responsible for Athzzo, set designs, costumes, hairdressing, and makeup.
