The woman’s vision to comprehend Anaga. This serves as the driving concept behind an island initiative by the United Association creating matter, which originates from the natural surroundings of the Cabildo de Tenerife.
Aimed at fostering community involvement and enhancing digital skills for 50 participants, it is funded with 14,630 euros. The programme is set to run for a duration of 5 months, culminating in a visit to El Hierro to exchange experiences with other women from the Meridian Island, benefiting from the biosphere reserve status of both locations.
Connected women: Entrepreneurship and Digital Skills is the designated title of the initiative. Its goal is to “empower” this group from the Anaga massif through technological and business training, enabling them to “minimise their carbon footprint when undertaking daily tasks and those linked to telematic business activities.
The programme is organised into three phases. The initial phase involves community assessment and diagnosis with women from Anaga to identify their training needs and requirements for acquiring knowledge and tools in digital, economic, and business skills.
The second phase encompasses the design and delivery of workshops based on the findings from the diagnosis. A minimum of five in-person sessions will be held, each with at least six women registered, aiming for a total of 50 participants. These forums may be tailored according to the varying levels of knowledge and needs identified, and they may take place in different areas within the reserves, such as Taganana, San Andrés, and Tegueste. In any event, the workshops will be conducted in at least three distinct locations, grouped by geographical proximity.
The third stage involves the organisation of a participatory meeting among women from the Biosphere reserves of the Anaga Massif, with at least eight participants, and those from El Hierro to understand both contexts and build connections.
