Hiker Injured in Cañadas del Teide After a Moderate Fall

A 45-year-old trekker has sustained moderate injuries following a fall in the hat area of Las Cañadas del Teide (Tenerife) this Saturday, as reported by 1-1-2.

The incident occurred at 2:19 p.m., when the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Canary Islands Government received a notification regarding a hiker who had tumbled in a location that was hard to access.

Rescuers from the GES helicopter located the individual and, after hoisting them on board, transported them to the Adeje helisurface where a basic life support ambulance from the Canarian Emergency Department (SUC) was awaiting.

Medical staff, following an initial assessment, identified a moderate trauma affecting the lower limb; the affected person was then taken by a basic life support ambulance to the hospital in the south.

The Civil Guard attended to the incident report.
