SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE APR. (Press Europa) –
The trade unions participating in the hospitality forum, including the more workers’ commissions (CCOO), will deliberate in the Assembly on Wednesday regarding the latest counteroffer put forth by the employers Ashotel and Aenor, aimed at preventing the anticipated tourist strike in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which is set for Thursday and Friday.
This represents the final endeavour, facilitated by the president of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, to avert a situation that has extended in the province of Las Palmas. There, an agreement was reached with CCOO and UGT, the leading unions in the tourism sector, for a pay increase of 9% alongside an additional payment of 650 euros.
In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the employers had proposed, up until Wednesday, a pay rise of 4%, which the unions have dismissed as they are seeking an increase of 6.25%.
