Uncontrolled Car Drives Through Santa Cruz de Tenerife with Unconscious Driver at the Wheel

The National Police has rescued a woman who lost control of her car after experiencing a seizure while driving in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

While the officers were conducting public safety duties in the capital of Tenerife, they heard cries for help from several bystanders on the opposite side of the road requesting an ambulance.

Following this, they quickly made their way to the source of the commotion, witnessing an out-of-control vehicle being driven by a woman who was convulsing and showed no signs of awareness, according to the police.

As the vehicle continued to move erratically, the officers began banging on the window in an attempt to rouse the driver, but this proved ineffective.

It was then that they attempted to open a door or window to gain access to the vehicle’s interior. Failing that, they struck the left rear window to shatter it.

Once they succeeded in breaking the window, one of the officers managed to reach inside the vehicle to engage the electric handbrake, as well as open the driver’s side door. They then extracted the victim from the car and placed her in a safe position on the ground until emergency services arrived, who then transported her to La Candelaria Hospital.

According to the National Police, thanks to the “swift and courageous” actions of the officers, the woman’s life was saved, and there was no injury or damage incurred to any third parties.
